Why exploit lakebed deposits?
The lake bed deposits that we mine, process and market are very young geologically, at the most a few thousand years old. Therefore they had not time to change to solid rock. Consequently, they are superfine grained with the particle size averaging just a few microns. This results in a huge surface area per unit mass ratio. These deposits, which resemble a white clay, have a very high solubility because of their superfine grain size.
In comparison, all other lime suppliers obtain their product from solid rock which is ten to hundreds of millions of years old. Even when crushed and ground up fine these rock products do not achieve the superfine grain size which makes our products so unique. Therefore our products have a superior solubility and will bring about a rapid response in the soil.
